Personal Safety
• Stay alert, look at what you are working on, and use common sense when using the equipment.
• Do not drop balance. Stand safely and securely at all times.
• Be suitably dressed. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry and long hair can be caught in moving parts.
Refilling the fuel
WARNING!
The following precautions reduce the risk of fire: Do not smoke or place heat sources near fuel. Never refuel while the engine is running. Stop the engine and let it cool for a few minutes before refueling. Open the fuel cap slowly for any excess pressure to slowly disappear. Tighten the fuel cap properly after refueling.
General lawn mowing:
Use a funnel with filter to prevent dirt getting into the fuel tanks and that fuel does not spill
Check regularly that there is enough engine oil on the machines.
If there is abnormal vibration or noise, stop the machines and call your immediate supervisor
Accidents when using riding lawn mowers (also known as ride-on mowers) can cause many types of injuries, ranging from small cuts and burns to major amputations and fatalities from rollovers.
Take to consideration witch machine will be the best to use in the given environment and job.
It is smooth you must be more careful to use "sit on" mower in places where it is a hill and similar places one common if using "Go behind the cliffs" can not be used if you can not walk safely and stably.
Lawn mowers
• Always inspect the lawnmower before use and make sure the blades, bolts and cutting head is not worn or damaged. Always replace blade and bolts at the same time to ensure even wear.
• Always walk when mowing, never spring.
• Always have a stabile footing when lawn mowing, especially on steep slopes. Lawn hills lengthwise, never up or down. Be particularly careful when changing direction. Do not lawn very steep slopes with "walk behind mower" instead use the trimmer. Be extra careful on slopes when it rains and it is wet
• Be especially careful when reversing or pulling the mower towards you.
• Never touch the blade while it is rotating. Never put hands or feet near or under a rotating blade.
• Always turn off and wait for the blade to stop rotating if the mower must be transported or to look under the machine.
• Never lift or carry a lawnmower with the engine running.
• Never start the engine while the mower is on its side.
Turn off the mower:
- Every time you step away from the mower unattended.
- Before removing any brokering.
- Before checking, clean or maintain the lawn mower.
- After hitting a foreign object, check the mower for damage and repair it if necessary.
- If the lawnmower starts to vibrate abnormally (stop immediately).
NOTICE
DANGER! There is a risk that stones and other objects can be thrown out of the mower. Keep bystanders, children, and all animals at a safe distance.
DANGER! Blade will continue to rotate for a few seconds after the mower is turned off. Wait until the blade has stopped completely before cleaning or maintenance
Common hazards
• Cuts or amputations from blades
• Catching fingers, clothing, or jewellery in pinch points or wrap points
• Burns from hot points
• Cuts, abrasions, and bruises from being struck by projectiles to eyes, face, or exposed skin
• Major injuries or death from rollover
• Fire and spills when refuelling.
Incident examples
"A co-worker suffered a disfiguring facial injury when the operator of a riding mower failed to clear the area of debris before starting. The blade propelled a rock at high velocity, striking the worker in the cheek, causing a facial fracture and large laceration. A worker had two fingers amputated when he attempted to clear debris from under the mower without first turning off the motor. "
"A young worker was blinded in one eye when she was struck by a rock thrown by a mower operated by a co-worker.
•A worker had three toes amputated when the push mower he was operating rolled back over his foot when he was mowing uphill on a slope. He was not wearing CSA-approved footwear."

Mowing around trees and bushes
Carefully cut around trees and bushes to make sure they are not affected by the thread. Plants can die if the bark is damaged.
Intended use
The machine is intended for cutting grass and weeds under bushes and on slopes and edges, where one does not reach with a lawnmower.
For your safety
When you turn off the grass trimmer the thread continues to run for a few seconds.
Ops! Do not touch the rotating thread.
Ensure that thrown objects do not injure people standing nearby. Keep bystanders at a safe distance from the mower. Always use solid shoes and long pants.
• Never use grass trimmer when other people - particularly children or pets - are nearby.
• Wait until the rotating line stops completely before touching it. The thread continues to rotate after the engine is turned off and can cause injuries.

• Keep your hands and feet far away from the rotating line.
NB! If you use a line trimmers with metal blade, contact Kristoffer Myhre regarding additional protection equipment.

• “Ride on" Lawnmower
Always turn the machine completely off if you don’t use it. Kids and other people can try to use the machine and get induried
Use only trailers that you can tilt the whole way down for transport of the “Ride on" mower.
If you have to drive the “Ride on grascutting machine” one a trailer ore truck that are higher than 50cm from the ground you have to do this (this is only a temporary solutions):
1: Be two persons, one person drive the rider and the other person direct so you drive safely up and down on the truck/trailer.
2: turn off the cutting blades.
3: Be shure that the trailer/truck is standing stabil.
4: Be shure that the Slides/equptment you are using to drive up and down on are Fixed to the trailer/truck. If they are not fixed with rope ore etc then they will slide and you and the Rider wil fell down.
Do stop the knife if people are closer than 7 meter from the grascutting machine.
Because the blades/knife can trow stones and etc on the person.
Do not drive to close to objects before you have experience with the machine.
Slopes
When using "ride on" mowers, mow down slopes rather than across.
If you feel uncomfortable on a slope, don’t mow it.
Don’t mow near steep drop-offs, ditches, or embankments. The machine can slide and you will get hurt
Do not drive to close to objects before you have experience with the machine.
