Work with heat
Examples of hot work is welding, using an angle grinder for cutting and grinding soldering, roofing with open flame or hot air tools (If you can keep your hand in front of it, is not hot work) and other open flames. Applies to both inside and outside if you are closer than 10 feet from a combustible material in a building.
In SBM it should NEVER be performed heat work inside or closer than 10 feet from a building if you do not have a course on Heat Work.
As far as possible, you should not perform Heat Work inside or do work that producing sparks or special heat.
Go out, if possible, or use equipment that do not make sparks or heat.
The following should be done (given you have the course one heat work and you are about to perform heat work:
Follow Heat Work Instructions and forms
Get approval from your manager
View heat work instruction under each property.
No one should perform Heat Work inside if you do not have taken Heat Work course!
The sparks from an angle grinder must always lead away from the building, combustible materials and people.
